Parasitism in bovine livestock is an emerging global problem. Prevalence of gastrointestinal (GI) parasites is the main challenge of livestock farming. Bovines especially cattle and buffaloes are the major livestock husbandry practice in Nepal. Most of the researches in GI parasites are mainly concerted either in species level or area centered; hence, this project is designed to find out the distribution patterns of the GI parasites in bovine livestock along the altitudinal gradients in Chitwan Annapurna Landscape. The study area will divided into six different study blocks with respect to the altitude. More than 100 samples will be collected from each sampling blocks and the collected samples will be examined in the lab to find out the different GI parasites. The results will also show the seasonal and altitudinal variation in the distribution of GI parasites in cattle and buffaloes which will be very useful for the veterinary doctors and agriculture planners.
