Himalayan Environment & Public Health Network (HEPHN) is a non-profit organization registered in Nepal. HEPHN is a Non-Government Organization governed by its own Constitution guided by the Nepal’s National Constitution and regulations. It was founded in 2015 with aims of protecting natural resources for better public health. The public health issues are mainly the health issues originated due to the health of the existing environment such as bird flu transmitted from migratory birds, pollution and respiratory problems, snails and gastrointestinal parasites, vector insects and communicable diseases etc.
We do believe in active partnership of general public and scholars in environment and public health issues. HEPHN members include students from various universities and colleges, faculty members, scholars, resource and development professionals, conservation biologists of various organizations, community forest people, environment and public health related scholars and other enthusiastic peoples of the society.

HEPHN envisions practical solutions for human dimensions on natural resources. For environment conservation, biological dynamics where human activities are inevitable component requires integrated conservation and development approach. In such background, HEPHN is established to stimulate conservation of biological resources with active participation of local people, who are both defenders and beneficiaries of conservation.
