1. Dr. Jagan Nath Adhikari

Jagan Nath Adhikari is the Chairman of the HEPHN. He is a mammalian ecologist and lecturer of Zoology at the Tribhuvan University. He is a PhD scholar at Central Department of Zoology, Tribhuvan University. He was a Conservation Officer at National Trust for Nature Conservation (NTNC) for more than two years. He contributed various books for graduate levels such as Natural Resources management: Status, Threats and Conservation and A Text Book of Zoology.

2. Dr. Ravi Mohan Tiwari

Dr. Ravi Mohan Tiwari is Program Director at Ecology and Environment division of HEPHN. He is a scientific researcher in Forest Ecology, especially in Forest Dynamics. He has completed his Ph.D. from Hokkaido University, Japan by comparing the dynamics of Nepal Himalaya and Hokkaido forest in 2017 and postdoctoral research from Zhejiang University, China. In the case of China, he has done research in biodiversity and biomass and impacts due to disturbances in sub-tropical forests of China. Dr. Tiwari was selected for visiting research after his Ph.D. in Forest Research Institute, Poland where he studied on European Abies alba forests. He was an external examiner for MSc thesis, co-supervised BSc thesis, taught different colleges, was selected as a member of the Young scientist award (NAST), received an award from the president of Nepal, and published a couple of papers in international peer-reviewed journals. He is currently working for the University of Tokyo Hokkaido Forest.

3. Dr. Janak Raj Khatiwada

Dr. Janak Raj Khatiwada is a herpetologist and a scientist at Chinese Academy of Sciences, working in taxonomic review of Himalayan amphibians and reptiles. He has received his doctoral degree from Chinese Academy of Sciences, China. He has authored several publications in impacted international journals. Dr. Khatiwada has discovered five new species of amphibians in which four are the new for science and one is the new record for Nepal.

4. Dr. Kishor Adhikari

Dr. Kishor Adhikari is Program Director at Public Health division of HEPHN. He has done his PG and doctorate degree in public health from Allahabad University, India. He has rich experience in the field of public health with especial focus on global health and environment. Dr. Adhikari served many National and international universities as a faculty and currently working as Associate professor at Chitwan Medical College, Bharatpur. He is also a visiting faculty for School of public health, Texila American University, Zambia. Apart from involving as columnist in National English daily newspapers, he has numbers of scientific publications in National and international journals with special focus on global public health issues.

5. Anil Prasai

Anil Prasai is a conservation biologist working in protected areas management, wildlife-people conflict. He has received Masters Degree from Central Department of Zoology, Tribhuvan University.  He has completed several projects related to wildlife conservation and habitat management.

6. Bipin Chandra Ghimire

Bipin Chandra Ghimire is Senior Program Officer at Ecology and Environment division of HEPHN. He is an Orninthologist working in diversity and conservation threats of Himalayan birds. He has received Masters Degree from Central Department of Zoology, Tribhuvan University.  He has authored several articles in national and international journals.

7. Dinanath Dhakal

Dinanath Dhakal is Senior Program Officer at Public Health division of HEPHN. He is a Parasitologist working in gastrointestinal parasites of human and wildlife. He has received Masters Degree from Central Department of Zoology, Tribhuvan University.  He has authored several articles in national and international journals.

8. Suman Sapkota

Suman Sapkota has completed a Master’s degree in Zoology with a specialization in Ecology and Environment from the Central Department of Zoology, TU, Kirtipur. He is working in herpetofauna and birds. He has been working in various biodiversity inventory related activities such as herpetofauna spotting and identification, bird watching, conservation awareness etc.

10. Pradip Kandel

Pradip Kandel is Program Officer at Ecology and Environment division of HEPHN. He has completed a Master’s degree in Zoology with a specialization in Ecology and Environment from the Central Department of Zoology, TU, Kirtipur. He is working in habitat suitability modeling of mammals and herpetofauna in Nepal. He has been working in various biodiversity inventory related activities such as bird survey, herpetofaunal survey, forest habitat assessment, conservation awareness etc.

11. Binod Bhattarai

Binod Bhattarai is Program Officer at Ecology and Environment division of HEPHN. He has completed a Master’s degree in Zoology with a specialization in Ecology and Environment from the Central Department of Zoology, TU, Kirtipur. Mr. Binod is well trained in the field of biodiversity conservation and education. He is willing to contribute to biodiversity, wildlife, and its conservation including conservation education.

12. Yureshiya Wagle
